The EANS2024 Annual Congress, set to take place from October 13 to 17 in the historic city of Sofia, aims to bring together more than 2000 leading neurosurgery experts, researchers and innovators from Europe and beyond.

Implantable Technologies Reversing Paralysis
Jocelyne Bloch is a neurosurgeon specialised in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. She acquired extensive experience and expertise in deep brain stimulation (DBS) and neuromodulation for movement disorders, pain and epilepsy. She is in charge of the Functional Neurosurgical Unit at the University Hospital of Lausanne. Very active in experimental medicine and translational neuroscience, she has a profound interest in developing new indications for DBS, advancing technologies and therapeutic paradigms in neuromodulation, neuro-regeneration, and cell therapy. She seeks to integrate these novel therapeutic strategies under a common umbrella to optimize treatment options for patients with neurological impairments. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Lausanne (CHUV/UNIL) and Adjunct Professor in the Center for Neuroprosthetics at EPFL, where, together with Grégoire Courtine, she directs the Defitech Center for Interventional Neurotherapies (NeuroRestore).
